Feeling frustrated with your Avowed character's build? It happens! Sometimes that initial class choice or attribute allocation just doesn't pan out as planned. Luckily, Avowed offers respec options, allowing you to adjust your abilities and attributes to create your ideal character. This guide will show you how.
Choosing the right build at the start of a game is tough. Respeccing lets you correct mistakes and refine your character as you play. In Avowed, I initially aimed for a full wizard, only to discover it wasn't the playstyle I enjoyed. I switched to a spellsword build and found it much more engaging. Later in the game, respeccing is key to optimizing your combat effectiveness and achieving your desired build.
To respec your abilities, open the in-game menu and navigate to the "Abilities" section. At the bottom, you'll find a "Reset Points" option. The initial cost is 100 Copper Skeyt, increasing with progression. Select the option, confirm your choice, and pay the listed price. This resets all ability points across all skill trees except "Godlike" abilities, which are acquired through in-game choices.
Happy with your abilities but not your attributes? Or perhaps you want a complete overhaul? Open the menu, go to the "Character" section, and you'll find a button below your attribute list to reset them. Similar to abilities, the cost (initially 100 Copper Skeyt) increases over time. Click the button, pay the cost, and reclaim your attribute points.
To respec your companion, open the menu, navigate to "Abilities," and then select the "Companions" tab. Under your companion's name, you'll see a button to respec their abilities for a Copper Skeyt cost. Remember, you need to respec each companion individually.
And there you have it! Now you can fine-tune your Avowed experience and create the perfect character build.
