Rockstar, the masterminds behind the GTA series, have finally released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices, marking the first significant update in six years. This exciting news is exclusive to mobile users, leaving console and PC players waiting for their turn.
The latest update for Bully: Anniversary Edition brings a host of new languages and focuses primarily on enhancing stability and fixing bugs. However, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to iron out some issues.
For Android users with compatible devices, the update introduces Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), enhancing visual quality. Both Android and iOS platforms now feature an updated app icon and improved haptic feedback, making the gameplay experience more immersive.
Several missions have seen significant fixes. For instance, the mission 'That Bitch' no longer leaves Mandy's locker impossible to pick. 'Weed Killer' now progresses correctly, even if you break the window early. Additionally, the notorious issue with police cars falling through the floor in 'The Rumble' has been resolved.
The update also addresses gameplay issues where enemies would inexplicably refuse to engage Jimmy in combat, leading to unbalanced fights. Crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu have also been fixed, ensuring a smoother experience.
The fanbase has been clamoring for Bully 2 for years, but Rockstar's focus seems to have shifted elsewhere. Reports suggest that a sequel was in development during the 2010s but was ultimately shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 now in the pipeline, the prospects for Bully 2 seem slim, especially as many original developers have moved on from Rockstar.
While the Anniversary Edition update isn't a full remaster or a sequel, it's a welcome upgrade for mobile players. If you're new to Bully, it's Rockstar's unique take on a schoolyard sandbox game where you play as Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old navigating the trials and tribulations of Bullworth Academy. The game retains Rockstar's signature humor and offers ample opportunities for open-world mischief.
You can grab Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, and enjoy full gamepad support for an enhanced gaming experience.
