What's the Pokémon GO Safari Ball All About?

Long-time Pokémon fans will recognize Safari Zones from the main series games. These special areas allowed players to catch rare Pokémon without battling. Niantic is recreating this experience with the new Wild Area event.

Pokémon GO hasn't seen many new Poké Ball additions. Regularly used balls include the standard Poké Ball, Great Ball, and Ultra Ball, along with Premier Balls and the coveted Master Ball.

The Wild Area event runs globally from November 23rd to November 24th, 2024, concluding at 6:15 pm local time. However, any unused Safari Balls will vanish from your inventory after the event ends.

During this event, the Safari Ball becomes the ideal tool for capturing powerful Pokémon. It's intriguing that Niantic isn't introducing these balls in existing Safari Zone or City Safari events, opting instead for a brand-new event launch.
