According to Housemarque's creative director, Gregory Louden, Saros is designed to stand independently from Returnal, creating a new IP that refines and expands upon the storytelling and mechanics of its predecessor. While Returnal offered an ever-changing roguelike experience across shifting biomes, Saros introduces permanent and evolving loadouts, including weapons and suits. This new feature aims to empower players to "Come Back Stronger," overcoming any challenges they face.

Stay tuned for more details, as an extended gameplay look is scheduled for later in 2025.
