Scammers are distributing fake invitations to test Elden Ring Nightreign

Bandai Namco has begun sending out emails inviting participants to the closed testing of Elden Ring: Nightreign, scheduled for February 14th-17th, 2025. Selected players will be among the first to experience this three-person cooperative mode.

However, due to Nightreign’s popularity, scammers are circulating fraudulent invitations. Players report receiving emails mimicking official Bandai Namco notifications, containing links to fake websites designed to look like Steam. These scams attempt to steal account credentials. Some players have even received these fraudulent messages from compromised friends' accounts. While some victims have successfully recovered their accounts through Steam support, caution is advised.

A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game messaging feature. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute gameplay sessions don't allow sufficient time for players to send or read messages effectively. Therefore, this feature has been temporarily disabled for the duration of the closed testing period.
