In NieR: Automata, the journey to upgrade your weapons and pod involves gathering a variety of crafting materials. While many of these become more accessible as you progress, securing them early can significantly boost your character's strength from the outset.

Among these materials, Machine Arms stand out as particularly elusive. Despite their name suggesting abundance, they are challenging to come by, often necessitating dedicated farming efforts, especially early in the game. Here's where you can focus your search.

Where To Farm Machine Arms In NieR: Automata

Machine Arms can potentially drop from any small machine you destroy, but the drop rate is influenced by the enemy's level. Early in the game, these drops are scarce, so increasing the number of machines you can defeat quickly is key.

Post-Chapter 4, after your initial encounter with Adam, you'll discover a pit where enemies, including small machines, spawn continuously. To reach this location, use fast travel to the Desert: Housing Complex access point and venture deeper into the ruins.

In this pit, as you eliminate enemies, new ones will appear shortly after, providing a steady stream of potential drops. Although the machines here are not of high level, thus yielding a lower drop rate for Machine Arms, the constant spawn rate makes this an optimal early-game farming spot. It's also an excellent location for farming Titanium Alloy.

To enhance your farming efficiency, consider equipping a Drop Rate Plug-In Chip, though its impact will be modest.
