Get ready, Star Wars fans! EA's highly anticipated turn-based tactics game set in the iconic Star Wars universe is set to be unveiled at Star Wars Celebration 2025. Announced back in early 2022, this untitled strategy game is being crafted by Bit Reactor, a studio filled with veterans from Firaxis Games, renowned for their work on the XCOM series. Bit Reactor has been collaborating closely with Respawn Entertainment, the developers behind the Star Wars Jedi series, to bring this new project to life, and they're finally ready to showcase it to the world.
Mark your calendars for April 19, when the first look at the game will be presented during a live panel. This panel will feature the lead development team from Bit Reactor, alongside representatives from Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games, as confirmed by the official Star Wars Celebration 2025 schedule.

While details about the game remain scarce, including the specific Star Wars era it will explore and the precise mechanics of its gameplay, the involvement of former XCOM developers suggests a strategic experience deeply immersed in the Star Wars universe.
In other news, Respawn Entertainment is also busy with the third installment of their Star Wars Jedi trilogy, though it won't be making an appearance at this year's Star Wars Celebration. Respawn had been developing another Star Wars game, a first-person shooter rumored to feature a Mandalorian protagonist, but it was unfortunately canceled amid a significant restructuring at EA, which resulted in the loss of around 670 jobs. Additionally, earlier in March, Respawn quietly canceled a multiplayer first-person shooter project, affecting an undisclosed number of staff members.
At Star Wars Celebration, fans can also look forward to a sneak peek at the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, slated for release in May 2026, and a first look at Star Wars: Visions Volume 3.
