Stellar Mercenaries: New Jupiter Expansion Released for Vertical-Scrolling Space Shooter

Stellar Mercenaries has just unleashed its latest update, the Jupiter Expansion, which nearly doubles the game's content. This thrilling update introduces a host of new worlds, enemies, and missions, all set against the backdrop of the solar system's largest planet. If you haven't yet experienced Stellar Mercenaries, it's a vertical-scrolling action arcade space shooter where you tackle procedurally generated missions, customize your ships and weapons, and strive to become the most feared mercenary in the solar system.

What’s New in the Jupiter Expansion of Stellar Mercenaries?

The Jupiter Expansion transforms Jupiter and its moons—Ganymede, Io, and Europa—into new battlegrounds, each presenting unique challenges. Ganymede is a desolate wasteland, Io is strewn with volcanic debris, and Europa is a frozen, treacherous expanse. Jupiter itself is a maelstrom of storms, adding an extra layer of difficulty to your missions.

The expansion introduces two new factions: the Jovian Empire, a formidable military force aiming to dominate the region, and the Pirate Council, a chaotic band of outlaws. With these new adversaries, you'll face 50 fresh missions featuring diverse objectives such as hyperspace hunting, piracy, escort duties, and train defense.

Six new ships join the fray: Raider, Goblin, Mako, Boxer, Lightning, and Skybreaker. Alongside these, a range of new weapons are available, including the Hyper Velocity Mortar, Plasma Seeker, EMP Rockets, Mauler Cannon, Electron Beam, and Neutron Beam. Get a sneak peek at all these exciting additions in the Jupiter Expansion Launch Trailer below.

New Hazards, Shields, and More

The update doesn't stop at new missions and equipment. It also introduces Tier 4 shields and armor, enhancing your defensive capabilities. New hazards like asteroid fields, elite enemy squadrons, and the formidable Pacifier await you. Additionally, some enemy mercenaries have evolved into more challenging classes, including the Nightmare, Riot, and Warhawk.

To complement the new gameplay, the expansion adds 14 new music tracks and introduces a new side missions system. With so much new content to explore, now is the perfect time to dive into Stellar Mercenaries. Check it out on the Google Play Store and embark on your next adventure in the vastness of space!
