Clone Hero streamer and content creator CarnyJared has achieved an astonishing feat by completing a full combo (FC) on DragonForce's iconic Guitar Hero 3 song, Through the Fire and Flames, at an incredible 200% speed. The monumental achievement was captured and shared on February 27, marking the culmination of a grueling nine-month journey.
In the video's description, CarnyJared expressed his gratitude, saying, “IT. IS. OVER.” He credited his success to the unwavering support from his Twitch and YouTube communities, stating, “I am rightfully thankful for everybody that has supported me throughout this ridiculous grind. I have the best supporters on the entire platform of Twitch and YouTube.” He further acknowledged the collective effort, saying, “We all spent an unfathomable amount of time staring at the same 3,722 notes, figuring out any possible way to hit them more efficiently. Somehow it worked out, and somehow I am able to sit in front of this computer which you have all cumulatively provided to me, and make a living playing Clone Hero.”
The challenge of playing Through the Fire and Flames at 200% speed is daunting, as the song, which typically lasts seven and a half minutes, is completed in just over three minutes at this accelerated pace. Achieving a full combo in Clone Hero means playing the entire song without missing a single note. CarnyJared's on-screen stats show his progress, with nearly 2,000 FC runs past the song's first bridge, 662 past its second bridge, and 227 to its solo section. His successful 200% FC run marks only the fourth time he has managed to pass the solo.
CarnyJared's emotional response to his achievement was palpable, as he expressed deep gratitude towards his supporters and family, saying, “This is a moment that will live with me forever. I am blessed every single day to wake up and have food in the kitchen, and a place to sleep because of you amazing group of people.” He also thanked his family for their support throughout his journey, describing the 200% FC as the “hardest thing” he’s ever done.
Following his success, CarnyJared celebrated and teased a forthcoming “1 hour+” documentary detailing his journey, promising fans an in-depth look at how he accomplished this seemingly impossible task.
