Supercell, the renowned Finnish developer, has made a surprising announcement following the closure of their RPG, Clash Heroes. While the game has officially been shut down, Supercell is not letting go of the concept entirely. Instead, they are transforming it into a new project dubbed Project R.I.S.E.
Clash Heroes has joined the ranks of discontinued Supercell titles like Clash Mini. However, the developer isn't leaving fans in the lurch. Project R.I.S.E. is set to be a social action RPG roguelite, still deeply rooted in the Clash universe.
In an announcement video, game lead Julien Le Cadre shared the news candidly. "Clash Heroes is dead. That’s the bad news," he stated. "The good news is that Project R.I.S.E. is still a Clash game, and the better news is that it’s now a multiplayer-focused action RPG."
Project R.I.S.E. promises to retain some elements of Clash Heroes but will be a fresh start as a social action RPG roguelite, crafted from the ground up. Players will team up with two others to explore a mysterious location known as The Tower. Each session will take place on a different floor, challenging players to ascend as high as possible. Unlike Clash Heroes, Project R.I.S.E. emphasizes multiplayer gameplay with a variety of characters, moving away from solo PvE dungeons.
Currently, the game is in its pre-alpha stage. Supercell plans to hold the first playtest for Project R.I.S.E. in early July 2024. Interested players can register now on the official website for a chance to participate.
