Exciting news for fans of The Legend of Zelda series: the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of *The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild* and *Tears of the Kingdom* are set to receive some noteworthy upgrades, including a feature that might just solve one of the most talked-about challenges in these games—equipment durability.

As discovered during a recent Nintendo Treehouse Live stream by the keen-eyed YouTuber Zeltik, a new feature within the Zelda Notes app, a mobile companion exclusive to these Nintendo Switch 2 titles, introduces a Daily Bonus system. This system allows players to roll for various in-game bonuses each day, one of which is labeled "Equipment Repairs." This could be a game-changer for players tired of seeing their favorite weapons break after extensive use.

In both *Breath of the Wild* and *Tears of the Kingdom*, the durability of weapons, shields, and other items has been a point of contention among players. The introduction of a potential repair system through the Daily Bonus feature offers a way to extend the lifespan of cherished equipment like the Flameblade, though it's not without its limitations.

The Daily Bonus operates on a roulette wheel, meaning the chance of landing on Equipment Repairs isn't guaranteed. Furthermore, this bonus is available only once per day, governed by a timer that players must wait out before their next opportunity to roll. While this feature may prove invaluable in critical moments, it's unlikely to revolutionize the gameplay entirely.

Beyond equipment repairs, the Zelda Notes app promises a suite of other engaging features. Players can look forward to achievements integrated through the mobile companion program, as well as special audio memories that will enrich the lore and background of various parts of Hyrule.

These upgrades, combined with anticipated performance enhancements on the Nintendo Switch 2, are poised to significantly enhance the open-world experience of Zelda for fans, especially for those who've been frustrated with the frequent breaking of their favorite gear.
