As the Capcom Pro Tour takes a break, all eyes are now on the 48 participants set to compete in Capcom Cup 11. While the focus is typically on the world's top players, we're shifting our attention to the characters they've chosen to represent them in Street Fighter 6. Following the conclusion of the World Warrior circuit, EventHubs provided detailed statistics on character usage at the highest level of play, offering a snapshot of the current game balance. Remarkably, all 24 fighters in the game were selected, with a notable exception: only one player opted for Ryu out of nearly two hundred competitors, which included the top eight from 24 regions. Even the recently added Terry Bogard found favor with two players.
The professional scene is currently dominated by Cammy, Ken, and M. Bison, each chosen as the main character by 17 players. A significant gap follows, with the next tier featuring Akuma (12 players), Ed and Luke (both with 11 players), and JP and Chun-Li (both with 10 players). Among the less popular choices, Zangief, Guile, and Juri stand out, each selected by seven players.
Capcom Cup 11 is scheduled to take place in Tokyo this March, where the winner will claim a grand prize of one million dollars. This event promises to showcase not only the skill of the world's best players but also the strategic depth and diversity of character selection in Street Fighter 6.
