EA Sports UFC 5 Receives January 9th Update: New Fighter and Bug Fixes

EA Vancouver has dropped a new update for EA Sports UFC 5, available January 9th at 1 PM ET on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Patch 1.18 introduces undefeated fighter Azamat Murzakanov and addresses several bugs.

Following October 2023's launch, EA Vancouver has actively expanded UFC 5's roster, aiming for parity with current UFC rankings. This update brings the game closer to that goal. The addition of Azamat Murzakanov, a Light Heavyweight with impressive stats (97 Power Punch, 95 Accuracy, 94 Ground Striking), is a significant addition. Three new alter egos are also included, though the specific fighters remain undisclosed.

Beyond the roster additions, Patch 1.18 includes gameplay tweaks, such as a reduction in the muscle modifier's stamina cost (from x3.125 to 2.5), and bug fixes. These fixes address incorrect translations in certain languages and a Ranked Championship issue ("Stand and Bang" match result display). Updated portraits for Stipe and Jones (UFC 309) are also included to reflect recent glove updates.

The update arrives ahead of EA Sports UFC 5's inclusion in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via EA Play on January 14th. This is a notable addition to the Ultimate tier's offerings.
