"Umamusume: Pretty Derby English Release Date Announced"

The much-anticipated English version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby is finally set to hit the global market. Fans eager to dive into this unique horse girls racing simulation can mark their calendars for June 26, 2025. Cygames made this exciting announcement on Twitter (X) on April 27, with pre-registrations kicking off the following day.

Originally launched in Japan on February 24, 2021, for iOS, Android, and PC, Umamusume: Pretty Derby brings a fascinating narrative to life. The game features legendary racehorses reborn as "horse girls" or "Umamusume," who resemble high school girls yet possess the ears, tails, endurance, and speed of horses. These characters attend Tokyo's Tracen Academy, striving to become celebrated racers and idols.

According to its Steam page, players can "scout featured trainees and supporters as you navigate the immersive sports life simulation through the game’s in-depth training system and top-of-the-line 3D graphics!" The game incorporates a gacha system, allowing players to choose from over 20 Uma Musumes to scout, train, and compete in races and performances.

PocketGamer.biz reported in March 2025 that the Japanese version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby generated over $2.5 billion in mobile revenue within four years, nearly hitting $1 billion in its debut year of 2021. With the English release, Cygames aims to replicate this success worldwide.
