Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Dynasty Warriors: Origins offers three distinct campaigns, each boasting a hidden true ending. This guide details how to unlock the true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction.

First, complete the Shu campaign. This unlocks replayability of past stages. You'll notice a gold banner next to "The Battle of Changban," signifying an alternate ending. The standard mission involves aiding Liu Bei's escape while Zhang Fei defends Changban Bridge. However, to unlock the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao instead of ensuring Liu Bei's safe passage.

To improve your odds:

1. Reduce Difficulty: Set the difficulty to "Historian" mode. The sheer number of enemies makes this a significantly easier challenge on a lower difficulty.
2. Strategic Partner: Choose Zhang Fei as your partner. This places you closer to Cao Cao's forces, reducing travel time.

Prepare your Musou Rage meter. Cao Cao will deploy two Grand Tactics: eliminating two officers and defeating 250 soldiers. A weapon like twin pikes proves effective against large numbers of soldiers. Once his army is routed, defeating Cao Cao should be manageable. A few additional missions follow before the true Shu ending is revealed.
