Xbox Game Pass subscribers will see six games depart from the service later today, on January 15. This significant change could impact those who enjoy multiplayer games through the platform.
The Xbox Game Pass catalog typically undergoes a reduction every 15 days, mid-month and at the end of the month. The most recent removal occurred on December 31, with games such as LEGO 2K Drive and McPixel 3 leaving the service.
Another set of six games will follow suit within the next 24 hours. The titles departing on January 15 from Xbox Game Pass include Escape Academy, Those Who Remain, Exoprimal, Insurgency: Sandstorm, Figment: Journey Into the Mind, and Common'hood.
Xbox Game Pass Games Leaving Today, January 15
Game | Platform(s) | Added | How Long To Beat |
---|---|---|---|
Common'hood | Cloud, Console, PC | Jul 2023 | 23–36 hours |
Escape Academy | Console, PC | Jul 2022 | 5–6 hours |
Exoprimal | Cloud, Console, PC | Jul 2023 | 28–39 hours |
Figment: Journey Into the Mind | Cloud, Console, PC | Jan 2024 | 5–6.5 hours |
Insurgency: Sandstorm | Cloud, Console, PC | Nov 2022 | 80–118 hours |
Those Who Remain | Cloud, Console, PC | Jan 2024 | 6–8 hours |
Half of the games leaving in the first wave of 2025 are multiplayer titles. Exoprimal and Insurgency: Sandstorm are exclusively multiplayer shooters, while Escape Academy, which has a well-received co-op mode, spent the longest time on Xbox Game Pass, having been added in July 2022 as a day-one release.
The timing for game removals on Xbox Game Pass can vary, but most are removed near the end of the day on their scheduled departure date. As of this writing, U.S. subscribers have approximately 18 hours left to play these departing titles. This timeframe is sufficient to complete games like Figment: Journey Into the Mind or Those Who Remain. For Escape Academy, the urgency is only for console players since the PC version will be available for free on the Epic Games Store starting January 16.
The next round of Xbox Game Pass removals is slated for January 31. The departing titles will be announced along with the Wave 2 lineup for January 2025, which includes new day-one releases such as Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, Eternal Strands, Sniper Elite: Resistance, and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector. More Xbox Game Pass updates are expected during the Xbox Developer Direct on January 23, 2025.
