Pokemon GO Reveals New Shadow Raid Day Plans

Pokémon GO's Shadow Raid Day: A Fiery Ho-Oh Return

Get ready for a fiery showdown! Pokémon GO announces a Shadow Raid Day featuring the legendary Ho-Oh on January 19th, 2025, kicking off the year with a powerful event. This is the first Shadow Raid Day of 2025, offering trainers another chance to catch this top-tier Fire-type Pokémon.

Shadow Raids, introduced in 2023, provide a unique way to acquire these powerful variants after defeating Team GO Rocket. Following successful events featuring Shadow Moltres and Shadow Mewtwo in 2024, Ho-Oh, originally introduced in 2020, makes a fiery comeback.

Event Details:

  • Date: Sunday, January 19th, 2025
  • Time: 2 pm to 5 pm local time
  • Featured Pokémon: Shadow Ho-Oh (increased shiny encounter rate)
  • Raid Passes: Up to 7 free Raid Passes from spinning Gyms (increased to 15 with a paid ticket).
  • Special Move: Teach Shadow Ho-Oh the powerful Charged Attack, Sacred Fire (130 power in Trainer Battles, 120 power in Raids/Gyms) using a Charged TM.

Boost Your Raid Day with a Paid Ticket:

A $5 event ticket significantly enhances the experience:

  • Increased Raid Pass Limit: Obtain up to 15 Raid Passes from Gyms.
  • Increased Rewards: Enjoy 50% more XP and double Stardust from raid battles.
  • Higher Rare Candy XL Chance: Maximize your chances of obtaining this crucial item for powering up level 40 Pokémon.
  • Bonus Duration: All benefits extend until 10 pm local time on January 19th.
  • Ultra Ticket Box: A $4.99 Ultra Ticket Box includes the event ticket and a Premium Battle Pass.

Beyond Ho-Oh's return, Pokémon GO's 2025 event calendar is already heating up! Recent events included Sprigatito Community Day and the introduction of Fidough. Future events to look forward to are Community Day Classic (January 25th) and the Lunar New Year event (January 29th – February 2nd). Prepare for an exciting year of Pokémon GO adventures!
