Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown!

Love Sudoku and crave some friendly competition? Battle of Sudoku is a multiplayer version where you compete against other players or teams. The goal remains the same: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so each column, row, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits from 1 to 9.

Before you begin, choose a difficulty level (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest). This sets the initial numbers on the grid, which all players solve simultaneously. Everyone starts with the identical puzzle.

Game Modes:

The game offers two modes, selectable in the options:

• "Show correct numbers of your opponent": Every correct number placed is visible to all players. Each correct number earns points, but you can't use a number already placed by someone else. Speed and accuracy are key!
• "Hide correct numbers of your opponent": Players can't see each other's correct entries. This allows for multiple players to earn points with the same number.

Time-Outs:

Incorrect entries result in a time-out (default 30 seconds, configurable in options), preventing the player from making moves while others continue.

Scoring:

Correct numbers earn points, with higher difficulty levels awarding more points per correct entry. Incorrect entries deduct points (half the value of a correct entry).

Winning:

The game ends when the puzzle is solved. The player with the most points wins. If "Show correct numbers" is disabled, the game ends when one player solves the puzzle, but this doesn't grant extra points; other players can still win with fewer mistakes.

Team vs. Individual Play:

Team play allows two teams to compete. Join a team (1 or 2), and once at least two players join a team, they are officially part of that team. Points are added to the team's total score, and notes/filled colors are shared among teammates for collaborative solving.

Solving Tools:

A toolbar under the puzzle provides tools:

• Pen Tool: Add notes (mini-numbers) to squares. Selecting a number already present removes it.
• Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares (including solved ones).
