Pokémon Go Celebrates New Year's 2025 with Fireworks & More

As 2024 draws to a close, Pokémon Go is joining the New Year's celebrations with its 2025 event! This event kicks off a busy start to the year, preceding the Fidough Fetch event and the highly anticipated Sprigatito Community Day.

Kicking things off in January is the Eggs-pedition Access, part of the Dual Destiny season. Running from January 1st to 31st, this $4.99 in-app purchase unlocks numerous benefits to enhance your Pokémon catching adventures. This includes a significant upgrade to the Gift system: increase your Gift storage to 40, open up to 50 daily, and collect 150 from Photo Discs. Get a sneak peek below!

What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?

The Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there aren't any new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes this time around, there's still plenty of festive fun.

Expect to find wild Jigglypuff with ribbons, Hoothoot in New Year's attire, and Wurmple sporting party hats—all with a boosted Shiny rate. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.

Raids feature a snowflake-capped Pikachu (Tier One), and party-hat-wearing Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), each with increased Shiny odds. Themed Pokémon will also appear in Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.
