The objective of Hearts is to achieve the lowest score by the game's conclusion. Players must follow suit (e.g., Clubs). If unable to follow suit, any card can be played, except Hearts or the Queen of Spades on the first round (the "trick"). The highest card of the lead suit wins the trick, and that player leads the next round. The trick winner earns one point for each Heart and thirteen points for the Queen of Spades. However, if a player takes all Hearts and the Queen of Spades ("Shooting the Moon"), they score zero points, while all other players receive 26 points. The game ends when a player reaches 100 points or more.
