The Battle of Polytopia has injected a thrilling new competitive element: Weekly Challenges. This exciting addition offers a fresh way to test your strategic mettle in this beloved 4X strategy game.
From Randomness to Rigorous Competition
Polytopia's charm lies in its inherent randomness—shifting enemies, fluctuating resources, and unpredictable maps. However, a recent free update introduces a structured competitive mode. Each week, all players face identical conditions: the same map, the same tribe, and the same starting parameters. The goal? Maximize your score within 20 turns. Players get one attempt per day, for a maximum of seven attempts per week.
This innovative feature allows you to experience tribes you may not own. The game boasts 16 tribes—four included in the base game and twelve available for purchase. In Weekly Challenges, however, everyone plays as the same tribe, regardless of ownership.

Will Weekly Challenges Elevate Polytopia's Excitement?
The new mode introduces a League system, starting with the Entry League. Your rank fluctuates weekly based on your performance. The top third ascends, the bottom third descends, and the middle remains unchanged. The difficulty also scales with your league progression; starting with Easy AI in the Entry League, and escalating to Crazy difficulty AI in the Gold League. Missing a week won't demote you, but your ranking will adjust relative to other players' performance.
