World of Warcraft: The War Within - Patch 11.1 Prologue and Dalaran Epilogue Guide

The narrative of World of Warcraft: The War Within continues beyond the Siren Isle update. Season 2, anticipated later in 2025, promises new endgame content and the next chapter of this expansion. But before that, Patch 11.0.7 introduces key story quests leading into Patch 11.1, focusing on the Goblin capital, Undermine. A separate questline concludes the tragic story of Dalaran's destruction, though its availability was initially delayed.

Updated January 7, 2025: The recent campaign quests mark a significant turning point. Dalaran, a long-standing location in Warcraft lore, may not recover from the events of The War Within. The Dalaran Epilogue questline provides a fitting conclusion to its story, offering a proper farewell to this once-important social hub in Wrath of the Lich King and Legion.

Accessing the Patch 11.1 Prologue ("Lingering Shadows" Campaign)

Unlike the Dalaran Epilogue, the "Lingering Shadows" campaign is immediately accessible. Completion of the leveling or Level 80 campaigns isn't required, though doing so beforehand provides context and avoids spoilers. The campaign comprises:

Unlocking the Dalaran Epilogue in World of Warcraft: The War Within

Initially gated for three weeks, the Dalaran Epilogue is now accessible (as of January 7th). However, you must have finished both The War Within's leveling campaign and the Level 80 campaign (requiring Renown Four with all four Khaz'algar factions).

Check Foundation Hall (the Patch 11.1 prologue starting point). If Khadgar is present after January 7th, you can receive the quest. His absence indicates unfinished campaign quests. The Dalaran Epilogue quests are:
