Excitement continues to build around *Days Gone Remastered*, and today, Sony’s Bend Studio gave fans a closer look at the enhanced accessibility features coming with the updated version of the game. Among the standout additions is the ability to adjust Game Speed during intense moments—offering players more control when navigating high-pressure situations.
In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, Creative & Product Lead at Bend Studio, outlined the range of accessibility improvements designed for *Days Gone Remastered*. One of the most notable features is the Game Speed slider, allowing players to reduce gameplay speed from 100% down to 75%, 50%, or even 25%. This feature was specifically developed to support players who may feel overwhelmed in challenging scenarios, especially during hectic combat sequences.
"Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers,"
explained McAllister. "Hordes are a pillar in Days Gone gameplay and with our new Horde Assault mode arriving in the remaster, we wanted to make this unique combat experience more accessible to our players."
Beyond Game Speed adjustments, *Days Gone Remastered* also includes several other accessibility enhancements such as customizable subtitle colors, adjustable High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and audio cues for collectibles. Additionally, the auto-complete Quick Time Event (QTE) option—which was previously limited to Easy difficulty—will now be available across all difficulty settings, from Easy to Survival II.
These new accessibility features aren’t exclusive to the PS5 remaster either. Bend Studios confirmed that most will also roll out to the PC version of *Days Gone*, although some advanced customization and feedback controls may require a compatible controller for full functionality.
Originally announced in February, *Days Gone Remastered* brings a host of upgrades beyond just accessibility—including an improved photo mode, permadeath and speedrun modes, and enhanced visual fidelity. As the release date draws near, anticipation grows stronger for this upgraded take on the 2019 open-world zombie survival adventure centered around biker culture and post-apocalyptic chaos.
*Days Gone Remastered* launches globally on April 25, 2025. Owners of the original PS4 version can upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for just $10, making it easier than ever to revisit—or discover—the world of Deacon St. John.
