Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost 2025: A Ghoulish Choice for Guardians
Destiny 2 players face a chilling decision: choose between "Slashers" or "Spectres" armor sets in the upcoming Festival of the Lost event. Bungie's reveal showcases designs inspired by iconic horror figures like Jason Voorhees, Ghostface, and even Slenderman, pitting fan-favorite villains against each other in a community vote. The winning designs will grace the game in October. Titans can embody the Babadook or Jason, Hunters can become La Llorona or Ghostface, and Warlocks can don a Scarecrow or Slenderman aesthetic. Furthermore, the previously unreleased Wizard armor from the 2024 event will become available during Episode Heresy.
This announcement, however, comes amidst a backdrop of community concern. While the new armor is exciting, many players express frustration regarding persistent bugs and a noticeable decline in player engagement within Destiny 2, particularly during Episode Revenant. Issues such as broken tonics and other gameplay glitches, though largely addressed, have left a lingering sense of disappointment among the fanbase. The timing of the Festival of the Lost reveal, ten months ahead of the event, has also raised eyebrows, with some feeling that Bungie should prioritize addressing the game's current issues before focusing on future content.
