As we noted in our Devil May Cry Season 1 review: "The series isn't flawless—its inconsistent CG, uneven humor, and predictable character arcs hold it back. Yet, thanks to Adi Shankar and Studio Mir, it emerges as a wildly entertaining adaptation. It’s both a surreal love letter to and a sharp critique of 2000s Americana.

"More importantly, it delivers some of the most dynamic animation of the year, capped off by an explosive finale that sets the stage for an even more intense and outrageous Season 2."

The renewal isn’t entirely unexpected. Series creator Adi Shankar previously revealed plans for a multi-season narrative arc, confirming that the story was always meant to unfold over several chapters.

For deeper insights, check out our exclusive interview with Shankar from IGN Fan Fest 2025, where he discusses how the anime brings the essence of the beloved franchise to life on Netflix.
