A new Digimon video game, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, appears to have leaked via GameStop ahead of tonight's PlayStation State of Play presentation.
Gematsu discovered and shared listings for this mysterious project, providing pre-order links for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The GameStop pages currently lack images or gameplay details for the unannounced title, but further information may be forthcoming.
This leak comes just hours before Sony's State of Play presentation, a 40-minute showcase with unannounced content. Given the timing and the Digimon Story: Time Stranger pre-orders, a formal announcement during the show seems likely.
The Digimon Story series has a long history, beginning with the original Digimon Story for Nintendo DS in the mid-2000s. Numerous sequels followed on various platforms, including 2015's Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, 2017's Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory, and the 2019 Complete Edition bundling both Cyber Sleuth titles.
These games typically involve players befriending and battling Digimon in RPG-style gameplay. While franchise producer Kazumashu Habu teased a new Story game in 2022, fans have eagerly awaited a true sequel. While titles like Digimon Survive offered a different experience, Digimon Story: Time Stranger appears poised to finally continue the main series if officially revealed soon.
