In the main quest "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, you'll find yourself at Trosky Castle, where you'll need to harness the art of alchemy to create a Fever Tonic. This guide will walk you through the steps to locate the recipe and brew the tonic effectively.

The recipe for the Fever Tonic can be found in the Surgeon’s Workshop within Trosky Castle. You have two options to gain access to this workshop. The first is to sneak in discreetly. The second involves using your persuasive skills to convince the chamberlain that you can create a digestive potion to ease his stomach troubles, which will grant you entry to the workshop.
If sneaking isn't your style, you can progress through the "For Whom the Bell Tolls" quest by delivering the horseshoe. After that, return to the forge and speak with Cook Fanka. Offer to help her with her locked chest, and she will lead you to the noble’s kitchen. Upon entering, you'll notice the chamberlain suffering from stomach pain. Engage him in conversation about his health and attempt to pass the skill checks to convince him of your ability to help. Success here will grant you access to the Surgeon’s Workshop. If you also craft a digestive potion alongside the Fever Tonic and return it to the chamberlain, he will allow you to meet Thomas.

If your skill checks fail, you'll need to resort to stealth. Steal some food, exit the kitchen, and head to the other side of the courtyard. Ascend the stairs to the right, which lead to another kitchen you're permitted to use, though a guard is present. Offer him the stolen food, and he will leave. From there, you can sneak upstairs to the Surgeon’s Workshop. Inside, locate the physician's journal on the bookshelf, read it, and use the station in the room to brew your potions.

The herbs required for the Fever Tonic are conveniently set up at the surgeon’s station. Open your book to the page for Fever Tonicum and follow these steps:
Don't worry if you don't succeed on your first attempt; you have ample herbs to work with, and there are more in the chest in the room. Given your prior experience with potion-making, crafting the Fever Tonic should be manageable.
Once you've successfully brewed the Fever Tonic, you'll need to deliver it to Thomas. If you've earned the chamberlain's trust by crafting a digestive potion, return to him with both potions. Otherwise, use the noble’s kitchen to sneak up to the chapel where you'll find Thomas and his sister, Adele. Speak with Adele to complete the quest.
