Fortnite Returns with Reload Mode

Fortnite's new "Reload" mode: A nostalgic blast from the past with a modern twist! This fast-paced mode throws 40 players onto a smaller map packed with iconic locations from Fortnite's history, bringing back the thrill of classic gameplay.

What's in Reload Mode?

Reload mode offers a unique twist on the battle royale formula: squad wipes are permanent. If your entire team is eliminated, it's game over. This creates high-stakes action in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes.

The action unfolds on a compact island featuring fan-favorite locations like Tilted Towers and Retail Row. While vehicles are absent, the map is brimming with unvaulted weapons, including old favorites like the Revolver, Tactical Shotgun, Lever Action Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, and Grappler.

Victory Crowns remain, and eliminated players are rebooted with a common Assault Rifle (plus building materials in Build mode). The Reboot Timer adds another layer of strategy, starting at 30 seconds and increasing to 40 as the match progresses, but can be shortened by eliminating opponents. Players can also choose to initiate their reboot immediately.

Elimination and Strategy

Eliminated players strategically drop Small Shield Potions, ammo, and building materials (in Build mode), keeping the battle intense and resource-driven.

Rewards and Quests

Reload mode also features intro quests offering substantial XP rewards. Complete three quests to unlock the Digital Dogfight Contrail, six for the Pool Cubes Wrap, and nine for the NaNa Bath Back Bling. A Victory Royale earns you The Rezzbrella Glider.
