Alkimia Interactive, the studio behind the highly anticipated Gothic 1 Remake, has given journalists early access to a new demo. Originally planned for Gamescom, this demo will soon be available to the public.
This demo acts as a prequel to the full game, introducing a new protagonist: Niras, a prisoner arriving in the Miners' Valley. Unlike the original Nameless Hero, Niras's perspective will shape the early narrative and interactions with the valley's inhabitants.
A previous Gamescom 2024 demo showcased Niras's arrival and introduction to the Colony's harsh environment. This upcoming demo expands on that, offering a broader experience of the revamped Gothic world. Both this demo and the final game are nearly entirely rebuilt, promising extended gameplay, a deeper focus on the orcs, and enhanced immersion. Expect a significantly richer experience than the original.
The Gothic 1 Remake demo will launch on Steam during the Steam Next Fest, available for free from the evening of February 24th to the evening of March 3rd. The full Gothic 1 Remake is scheduled for release later this year on PC (Steam, GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
