Project Zomboid's vast map makes traversing on foot a daunting task. Fortunately, many vehicles remain functional, and hotwiring offers a solution when keys are unavailable. This guide details the process and requirements for successfully hotwiring a car.
Hotwiring Mechanics in Project Zomboid
Successfully hotwiring a car allows you to drive it as long as it has fuel and is in good condition, bypassing the need for keys. However, prerequisites exist: you need at least Level 1 Electrical and Level 2 Mechanics skills. Alternatively, choosing the Burglar profession during character creation eliminates this skill requirement.
Hotwiring Steps:
After meeting the prerequisites, follow these steps on any operable vehicle. The hotwiring process is automatic; once finished, press W to start the engine. Remember to check for fuel beforehand!
