Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Update 1.2 Adds Steam Workshop, Barber Shops

Warhorse Studios has unveiled an exciting free update for *Kingdom Come: Deliverance II* with version 1.2. This patch brings two major features: seamless mod integration via Steam Workshop and a brand-new barber shop system that enhances player customization.

The Steam Workshop integration revolutionizes the way players access mods, allowing them to download and install directly within the game, bypassing the need for external platforms. However, this feature hinges on mod creators uploading their creations to Steam Workshop. Currently, a handful of mods are available, such as:

  • Free Saving: This mod grants unlimited saves by automatically replenishing the "Saviour Schnapps" item when used or lost.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a historically inspired horned helmet to the game.
  • Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, giving players access to restricted story areas.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a visually striking zebra.

Although the initial mod selection is limited, the vibrant modding community is poised to grow swiftly. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, it's likely that creators will soon share their work on both platforms. While Steam Workshop might not match the breadth of Nexus Mods, popular mods are expected to emerge quickly.

In addition to enhanced mod support, players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to change their hairstyle or beard design. Choosing a new look temporarily boosts the protagonist's Charisma stat, adding a strategic layer to personal customization.

Update 1.2 encompasses much more, as detailed in the comprehensive changelog available on the game's official website. Warhorse Studios has implemented over a thousand fixes and improvements across nearly every facet of the game. Key enhancements include balancing adjustments, refined animations, and improved NPC behavior, with specific fine-tuning of the crime system for greater accuracy.

Other significant updates include:

  • Revised daily schedules for NPCs to reflect more realistic routines.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and improved horse trading systems.
  • Upgraded character visuals and overall performance, especially in Kuttenberg, the game's largest city, and during large-scale battles.

Warhorse Studios is set to discuss these changes in depth during a developer livestream next Thursday. The studio's commitment to ongoing support is further evidenced by plans for three paid DLC expansions scheduled for release in spring, summer, and winter.

With the addition of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and numerous gameplay enhancements, *Kingdom Come: Deliverance II* continues to evolve, delivering an ever-richer medieval experience to its players.
