In today's saturated gaming market, finding a truly unique title can be challenging. My Father Lied, however, stands out with its compelling narrative and intriguing blend of mystery and Lovecraftian elements. This puzzle adventure game offers a captivating story that sets it apart from the crowd.
The game's creation story is fascinating. Developer Ahmed Alameen, initially a writer and filmmaker, initially collaborated on a game concept in 2020, but that project ultimately fell through. Undeterred, Alameen independently learned 3D modeling and Unreal Engine to realize his vision, even collaborating with his wife on the game's title.
My Father Lied plunges players into a mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian mythology, brimming with secrets, puzzles, and unexpected twists. Players assume the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: what happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, proves far from straightforward.
The game masterfully blends ancient Mesopotamian lore with contemporary storytelling. Gameplay features simple point-and-click mechanics, avoiding complex controls, and showcases beautiful 2D visuals and immersive 360-degree imagery.
