Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to Esports World Cup 2025
Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, several game publishers have announced their return for the 2025 event. Moonton's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is the latest to join the lineup, confirming its participation after Garena's Free Fire.
The 2024 World Cup featured two Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competitions: the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. These tournaments brought together teams from around the globe in Riyadh. Selangor Red Giants triumphed in the MSC, while Smart Omega Empress defeated Team Vitality (holders of a 25-game win streak since 2021) to win the Women's Invitational.
A Strong Showing, But Is It Enough?
While most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup are returning, it's noticeable that few are showcasing their premier tournaments. The inclusion of MLBB's mid-season cup, for instance, might suggest the Esports World Cup is viewed as a secondary event rather than the main attraction. This is a double-edged sword: it avoids overshadowing existing leagues, but it also risks being perceived as less significant than the primary competitions.
Despite this, fans of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will be delighted by its return to this prestigious tournament. For those newly inspired to try MLBB, check out our tier list of top-tier characters!
