Indie studio We Are Muesli has unveiled their latest project, a narrative-driven game titled In Their Shoes, slated for release in 2026 across both mobile and PC platforms. The game has already made waves, securing a nomination for the 'A MAZE. 2025' awards in Berlin, which celebrates independent and arthouse games.
Set in the bustling, contradictory city of Milan, In Their Shoes invites players to step into the lives of seven distinct characters. The game features 49 interactive vignettes, termed Moments, each offering a snapshot of a character's daily life. These Moments vary in pace; some unfold slowly, allowing players to immerse themselves in the character's thoughts and routines, while others demand quick reactions, reflecting the spontaneity of real-life decisions.
Unlike traditional narrative games, In Their Shoes boasts a deliberately untidy storyline. As players navigate these fragmented tales, they can uncover 26 hidden biographical details for each character, piecing together a rich tapestry of slice-of-life experiences.
While the Play Store page for the game is still forthcoming, the Steam page is already live. Get a closer look at the game through the announcement trailer below.
