Nintendo Is Shutting Down Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp!

Nintendo's Popular Mobile Game, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, is Closing Down!

Yes, you read that correctly! Nintendo has announced the end of service (EOS) for its popular mobile game, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, leaving many players surprised. Let's delve into the details.

The End is Nigh: When is Pocket Camp Shutting Down?

Online services for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will cease on November 28th, 2024. This means no more Leaf Tickets, no more Pocket Camp Club memberships. Auto-renewal for the Pocket Camp Club will stop on October 28th, with no refunds for existing memberships (though you will receive a commemorative badge). Your final chance to acquire Leaf Tickets is November 26th. The online community will officially say goodbye at 7:00 AM PST on November 28th.

A Silver Lining: An Offline Version is Coming!

While online services are ending, Nintendo plans to release a paid offline version of the game. This version will lack online features such as the Market Box, gifting, and visiting friends' campsites. However, your saved progress will be preserved, allowing continued gameplay without an internet connection. More details about this paid offline version are expected around October 2024.

A Trend of Mobile Game Closures?

This closure follows a pattern of Nintendo discontinuing mobile games, including Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost. Even Mario Kart Tour is currently in maintenance mode. Therefore, the shutdown of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, while unexpected for some, isn't entirely shocking.
