During today’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct presentation, several key features were highlighted. First and foremost, the Switch 2 boasts a larger 7.9-inch display compared to its predecessor. Despite maintaining the same thickness (13.9mm), the new model doubles the pixel count, delivering a crisp 1080p resolution in handheld mode at up to 120 frames per second. The screen is an LCD panel, supporting both HDR and vibrant visuals.

Docked, the console can deliver up to 4K resolution with HDR, providing a cinematic experience that rivals high-end gaming setups. The Joy-Con controllers have undergone a redesign, featuring magnetic connections for easier attachment and detachment. A release button on the back simplifies the process, while the SL and SR buttons have been enlarged for better ergonomics. Additionally, the left and right analog sticks are larger, improving precision during gameplay. The segment also confirmed support for mouse controls through the Joy-Cons.

The handheld device includes a built-in microphone equipped with noise-canceling technology, along with enhanced 3D audio capabilities for compatible titles. A more robust and adjustable stand replaces the previous model, allowing users to position the screen at various angles. The top USB port offers flexibility, enabling external camera integration or charging while in tabletop mode.

Another standout feature is the 256GB of internal storage, ensuring ample space for games and updates. Priced at $449.99 USD, the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5.
