Path of Exile 2's endgame presents a significant challenge. To ease the transition, developers have strategically placed easily-missed encounters within the main campaign. These encounters offer permanent buffs, extra passive skill points, and weapon set skill points. One such encounter, the Sisters of Garukhan, provides a valuable +10% Lightning Resistance boost. This guide details how to locate and activate this crucial buff.

Where To Find the Sisters of Garukhan

The Sisters of Garukhan encounter appears twice: in Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Interacting with the shrine grants the +10% Lightning Resistance buff. Its understated icon on the world map makes it easy to overlook.

Due to PoE 2's randomly generated maps, the Sisters' precise location within the Spires of Deshar isn't fixed. However, diligent exploration will reveal a shrine resembling the image above. Approaching and interacting with it activates the buff. Be prepared for a fight; activating the shrine brings the surrounding metal automatons to life. Activating the shrine triggers all automatons on the map to become hostile.

A convenient strategy involves reaching the checkpoint near the exit before interacting with the shrine. This allows fast travel back to the shrine's vicinity, avoiding unnecessary combat.

Claiming the +10% Lightning Resistance Buff

The +10% Lightning Resistance is granted instantly upon interacting with the shrine. It's not a dropped item or a reward for defeating the automatons; it's automatically applied upon contact.

Remember, the Sisters of Garukhan appear in both Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Activating the shrine in both acts yields a total of +20% Lightning Resistance.

Troubleshooting: Why the Buff Isn't Showing

Many players find it confusing that their resistance values remain negative even after activating the buff. This is because PoE 2 applies a -10% debuff to all elemental resistances after each Act (Chaos Resistance is unaffected).

Therefore, activating the Sisters of Garukhan in Act 2 neutralizes the Act 1 debuff, resulting in a net zero Lightning Resistance. In Act 2 Cruel, the buff reduces the cumulative debuff, but the negative value persists.

To confirm the buff's activation, remove all equipment and check your resistances in the endgame. A -40% elemental resistance indicates that you've successfully obtained the buffs.
