This year's Pokémon Sleep winter holiday event brings two adorable additions: Eevee in a Santa hat, Pawmi, and Alolan Vulpix! Let's dive into how to catch them.
Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix Debut in Pokémon Sleep
The December 2024 Holiday Dream Shard Research event, running the week of December 23rd, marks the arrival of Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix. Expect increased Dream Shard acquisition opportunities and boosted encounter rates for these Pokémon. Shiny versions will also be available.
Catching Pawmi
Pawmi appears from 3 PM on December 23rd on Greengrass Isle, Snowdrop Tundra, and Old Gold Power Plant, with increased encounter chances during the event. Pawmi, Pawmo, and Pawmot all have the Snoozing sleep type. While evolutions use Candies, their sleep styles are only observed in the wild. A Snoozing sleep type (a common, light sleep) significantly boosts encounter rates. The Balanced sleep type offers a smaller chance.
Catching Alolan Vulpix
Alolan Vulpix, also debuting at 3 PM on December 23rd, is rarer, appearing only on Snowdrop Tundra. Alolan Vulpix and Alolan Ninetails possess the Slumbering sleep type, requiring a deep, 8-hour sleep for optimal encounter chances. Like Pawmi, a Balanced sleep type may yield a less frequent encounter.
Best Island for the Holiday Event
To maximize your chances of catching both Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix, target Snowdrop Tundra during the event. However, be aware of the island's demanding team requirements; prepare your team beforehand for optimal results.
Pokémon GO is available on iOS and Android.
