Attention all GoldenEye enthusiasts, it's time to get excited — IO Interactive has officially announced that their upcoming James Bond game, Project 007, will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2. According to IO Interactive’s website, this game will delve into an entirely new narrative within the iconic Bond universe.
"Players will step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story," the developer shared, giving us a glimpse into what we can expect from the game's storyline.
Back in October, IO Interactive's head, Hakan Abrak, shared his enthusiasm with IGN about crafting a fresh origin story for the beloved spy. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," he explained to IGN.
Abrak further elaborated on the vision for Project 007, saying, "It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."
While fans eagerly await more details, the release date for Project 007 remains undisclosed. To stay updated on all the announcements from today's Nintendo Direct, you can check them out right here.
