PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup: Stage One Concludes, 12 Teams Advance
The first stage of the PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup (EWC), held as part of the larger Gamers8 event in Saudi Arabia, has concluded. The initial field of 24 teams has been reduced to 12, setting the stage for a thrilling final showdown. The remaining teams are vying for a share of the $3 million prize pool.
For those unfamiliar with the EWC, it's an esports tournament showcasing some of the biggest gaming titles. PUBG Mobile's participation highlights the event's success in bringing prominent games to Saudi Arabia.
Currently, Alliance leads the pack. The 12 qualifying teams will enjoy a one-week break before the final stage commences from July 27th to 28th.
Global Impact and Future Prospects
While the long-term impact of the PUBG Mobile World Cup on fan engagement remains to be seen, its announcement has generated significant buzz. It's important to note, however, that despite its name, this tournament isn't the largest on PUBG Mobile's esports calendar. With other major events planned for 2024, the EWC's prominence might be somewhat eclipsed.
The 12 eliminated teams will have another chance to compete in the Survival Stage on July 23rd and 24th. Two teams will earn spots in the main event from this intense competition.
