Schedule I, the drug dealer simulation game, has been making waves on Steam, continuing to receive post-launch updates after its overnight viral success. The latest update, Patch 5, elevates the game to version 0.3.3f14. This patch introduces several significant improvements, but the highlight for its avid player base is the announcement of the first content update, scheduled for release this weekend.

PlayCurrently, Schedule I holds the top spot as the best-selling game on Steam, outpacing heavyweights like Monster Hunter Wilds, GTA 5, and Marvel Rivals. Its viral spread across social media platforms, Twitch, and YouTube has attracted a massive audience. In the game, players start as small-time dealers and work their way up to becoming drug kingpins, managing the production and distribution of various substances in the gritty city of Hyland Point. Expansion of your empire involves acquiring properties, businesses, and hiring employees.

The game is developed and published by TVGS, an indie developer from Australia known as Tyler. He described the game's explosive launch as "amazing but pretty overwhelming," expressing his surprise at the overwhelming response. In a Reddit post, Tyler shared, "I never expected this kind of response! At the moment, I’m just trying to stay focused and get patches out ASAP. Also looking forward to getting started on content updates as soon as all major bugs are patched."

Patch 5 focuses on resolving a range of issues, including employee bugs, multiplayer bugs, and casino bugs. Additionally, Tyler has implemented pathfinding validity checks to prevent crashes, a problem he credits to feedback from a Discord user named Chi Chi.

Here are the detailed patch notes for Schedule I Update 5 version 0.3.3f14:

Tweaks/Improvements

  • Added an active display setting to choose which monitor the game displays on.
  • Botanists will now automatically move product from their supplies to drying racks.
  • Owned vehicles are now visible on the map app.
  • Implemented several validity checks/failsafes for NPC pathfinding and warping, addressing a primary cause of crashes on certain chipsets.
  • Refactored employee item movement behavior to enhance efficiency.
  • Implemented NPC effects culling at a certain distance to boost performance.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed issues with non-host clients in blackjack, preventing them from hitting or standing.
  • Resolved a quest UI bug that caused infinite loading screens in multiplayer.
  • Fixed clipboard selections not reassigning without manual clearing of existing selections (e.g., employee beds, botanist supplies).
  • Corrected the dealer's premature hand reveal to non-host players in blackjack.
  • Fixed the first-person jacket animation appearing janky.
  • Addressed the 'Master Chef' achievement being awarded prematurely.
  • Fixed property null references causing multiplayer loading/desync issues.
  • Made the drying rack 'dry' button non-interactable when the input slot is reserved by an employee.
  • Corrected NPC 'stay in building' behavior causing errors for non-host players.
  • Fixed NPC voiceover emitters sometimes throwing null references.

Tyler has promised sneak peeks of the upcoming content update soon.
