Sega has officially revealed the worldwide launch date for Sonic Rumble. Discover when the game drops and what exclusive rewards await players through its pre-registration bonuses.
On April 9, Sega confirmed via Twitter/X that Sonic Rumble will launch globally on May 8, 2025. The announcement was accompanied by a fresh gameplay trailer showcasing the chaotic multiplayer action.
Marking the franchise's debut party game, Sonic Rumble features 32-player online battles across vibrant obstacle courses and combat arenas. As Sega describes: "Choose your favorite Sonic character and dive into Dr. Eggman's toy-themed world, where perilous challenges and fast-paced competition await!"
While the free-to-play model raised concerns about pay-to-win mechanics, director Makoto Tase addressed these during Tokyo Game Show 2024: "We've implemented a straightforward purchase system with fixed-price items rather than randomized gacha mechanics - making it easier for casual players to get exactly what they want."

Hours after announcing the release date, Sega reported crossing 900,000 pre-registrations. Each milestone unlocks special in-game bonuses:
・200K: 5,000 Rings (currency)
・400K: Happy Sticker
・600K: Crystal Chao Companion
・900K: Garnet Knuckles Outfit
・??? Secret Reward
The final stretch goal remains undisclosed, though industry patterns suggest it could reach 1 million signups. With several weeks until launch, the campaign still has momentum to hit new records.
