Stardew Valley developer, ConcernedApe, has announced via social media that a Nintendo Switch patch addressing the game-breaking divorce crash and raccoon shop bugs is imminent. While these issues have been resolved across PC, mobile, and other console versions, the Switch update remains in development.
Since its 2016 release, Stardew Valley has seen numerous updates and improvements. Its charming pixel art and relaxing gameplay have maintained its popularity. ConcernedApe consistently updates the game, adding new content and fixing reported bugs. A recent patch addressing persistent issues is nearing release on the Switch.
ConcernedApe confirmed on Twitter that the Stardew Valley patch fixing the divorce crash and raccoon shop problems is "still coming," though a specific release date remains unannounced. The developer assures players it will be released as soon as possible. Following the launch of update 1.6, these issues (among others) were reported by players. These were quickly addressed on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. ConcernedApe originally announced the Switch patch was in development around Christmas, and it now appears close to release.
Stardew Valley's major update 1.6, released on PC in March, introduced significant new content. This included new NPC dialogue with personalized gift reactions, the Meadowlands Farm, and additional festivals and events. Visual enhancements, such as waterfalls, holiday decorations, and seasonal map variations, were also added.
Despite addressing many issues, update 1.6 inadvertently introduced new problems. The update rolled out to consoles and mobile in November, revealing several bugs, including game-breaking ones. A swift emergency patch addressed mobile issues on November 15th, while fixes for other platforms continued.
The Stardew Valley community appreciates ConcernedApe's open communication and responsiveness. While the Switch patch for the divorce crash and raccoon shop isn't yet available, players can expect its release shortly.
