Stellar Blade's Festive Holiday Update: A Cozy Christmas in Xion

Stellar Blade is decking the halls (and Xion!) for the holidays with a new event launching December 17th. This update brings festive cheer, new outfits, and a fun mini-game. Let's dive into the details.

Stellar Blade Holiday Update

New Holiday Attire and Decorations

Get into the holiday spirit with brand-new Christmas-themed costumes, decorations, and a mini-game! Eve and other characters sport festive outfits:

  • Santa Dress (Eve)
  • Rudolph Pack (Drone)
  • I’m No Santa (Adam)

Eve's holiday look is complete with a new Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.

A Festive Xion and a Holiday Mini-Game

Xion transforms into a winter wonderland, adorned with warm lights and festive red, green, and white decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve's camp also receive the holiday treatment, complete with new seasonal background music ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away").

The update introduces a new mini-game. While details are scarce, it involves shooting targets on a holiday-themed drone for special rewards.

Control Your Festive Fun: Enabling and Disabling Seasonal Content

A new setting lets players control seasonal content, including the Nier:Automata DLC. Go to Settings > Gameplay > Seasonal Event Content and choose:

  • Auto: Automatically enables/disables based on the season.
  • Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
  • Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.

Note: Changing this setting requires a game restart.

Mixed Reception: A Short Game's Seasonal Challenge

The update has been mostly well-received, with many fans playfully calling Eve "Christmas Eve." However, some players question the frequency of event updates for a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The need to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content is also a point of contention.
