The PC version of Stellar Blade is set to launch on Steam on June 11, bringing with it a host of PC-specific features. This exciting news was inadvertently revealed by Sony through a trailer that was briefly published on the PlayStation YouTube channel before being taken down. However, the internet being what it is, the trailer was quickly captured and shared widely, and we anticipate an official release soon.
Alongside the PC launch, Sony announced a Complete Edition of Shift Up's acclaimed PS5 action game, Stellar Blade. This edition includes the base game along with all the DLC released so far, available for both PS5 and PC platforms. This announcement comes more than a year after Stellar Blade's successful debut on PS5 in April 2024.
Stellar Blade on PC comes packed with features that PC gamers will appreciate, including AI upscaling technologies like Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3, an unlocked framerate, voiceover options in Japanese and Chinese, support for ultrawide displays, enhanced environment textures, and compatibility with DualSense controllers for immersive haptic feedback and trigger effects.
The trailer also teased new content, including a new boss battle against Mann, Leader of the Sentinels, and 25 new costumes, which are expected to be available on PS5 as well. Additionally, eagle-eyed viewers noticed a scene at the end of the trailer where Eve releases a memory stick, sparking speculation about a potential new ending or additional DLC for the game.
Stellar Blade has been a significant success for Korean developer Shift Up, generating $43 million in royalties in the last financial year. With expectations that the PC version will outsell the PS5 version, which sold over 1 million copies in just two months, Shift Up is also considering developing another game in the franchise.
In Stellar Blade, players assume the role of Eve, fighting against unknown invaders to reclaim Earth in a fast-paced action role-playing game. While the game received a 7/10 rating from IGN and was well-received by fans, it was noted for its strengths in action gameplay but criticized for its characters, story, and certain RPG mechanics.
