Unveiling 'Stalker 2': Exploring the Arcane Mission of Science

In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players encounter numerous NPCs in The Zone, often leading to quests ranging from small tasks to substantial side missions like "For Science!". This mission involves Skif meeting Yaryk Mongoose, who needs help activating a second measuring device atop a silo. While brief, completing it rewards players with a Malachite pass, granting access to the STC Malachite facility.

Initiating the "For Science!" Side Quest:

To begin, find Yaryk Mongoose in the Central Elevator area of the Chemical Plant. Upon approaching, Mongoose will radio Skif, requesting a meeting. Inside the Central Elevator, go left past the conveyor belts, ascend the rusty stairs, vault the railing, and speak with him. Mongoose explains the need to activate a second device on a silo, initiating the "For Science!" mission.

Reaching the Silo's Summit:

Exit the room and climb to the building's roof. Eliminate any rodents encountered. A room with broken windows allows access to an exterior walkway and ladder leading to the silos. Equip your bolt-action weapon to counter electro anomalies. Proceed left along the silo's top to activate the device.

Dealing with the Bloodsuckers and Mongoose:

Activating the device attracts Bloodsuckers. Choose to fight or evade them to return to Mongoose. He'll explain the experiment's unforeseen consequences. Players can kill Mongoose for endangering Skif, looting the Malachite pass from his corpse, or choose the peaceful option, receiving the pass and coupons. The choice has no significant long-term impact. The pass allows entry to the STC Malachite base, unless already accessible via main missions.
