Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Suffers Yet Another Delay, This Time to October 2025

The highly anticipated Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has encountered yet another delay, pushing its release to October 2025. This latest postponement, shared in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room, follows a series of delays over the years. Although the new release date is a few months later than previously planned for the first half of 2025, there's a silver lining: the game is now complete.

According to Executive Producer Marco Behrmann, "The status of the game right now is that the game is done. We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases." Despite the frustration of another delay, the update video also brings positive news. The Chinese Room has enriched the game with more content, deeper narrative, and enhanced character development. Additionally, fans can look forward to an "evolved role" for the character Fabien in the storyline.

While the development team has kept the community informed through various dev diaries, a recent post on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page announced that updates will be less frequent going forward. The game's journey has been tumultuous, initially announced in 2019 by developer Hardsuit Labs with a planned release in Q1 2020. Subsequent delays pushed the launch to late 2020, then 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit in March 2021.

In a significant shift, Hardsuit Labs was replaced by The Chinese Room in 2023, targeting a 2024 release window. Despite this latest delay, the team remains optimistic. If Bloodlines 2 achieves a successful release, Paradox has hinted that "someone else" will take on the development of Bloodlines 3. While it's uncertain if the sequel to the 2004 cult-classic will finally captivate players this fall, The Chinese Room appears confident in delivering a polished experience.
