The Voodoo Doll stands out as one of the safer Cursed Possessions in *Phasmophobia*, offering a favorable risk-reward ratio. Although recent updates have tweaked its benefits, it remains a valuable tool for players. The primary function of the Voodoo Doll is to compel the ghost to perform actions that reveal evidence, which is particularly useful when dealing with a ghost that's reluctant to show itself.

To use the Voodoo Doll, you insert pins into it, one at a time, to provoke the ghost into actions like generating EMF5 readings or leaving Ultraviolet prints. There are 10 pins available, but each insertion comes with a risk: every pin you push in reduces your sanity by 5%. Using all the pins could drain up to 50% of your sanity, increasing your vulnerability to ghost hunts.

The most critical pin is the one in the doll's heart. Inserting it is a gamble because it's randomly selected among the 10, and if you hit it, your sanity drops by an additional 10%, and a Cursed Hunt is immediately triggered. During a Cursed Hunt, the ghost appears near you and pursues you for an extended period—20 seconds longer than usual.

Despite the risks, the Voodoo Doll can be a powerful tool for gathering evidence, provided you're well-prepared and manage your sanity carefully.

What Are Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia?

Cursed Possessions, also known as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in *Phasmophobia* that randomly appear across various maps. Their presence can vary based on difficulty settings or whether you're playing in Challenge Mode.

Unlike regular equipment that helps you locate and document ghost activity with minimal risk, Cursed Objects serve as high-risk shortcuts to manipulate the ghost's behavior. The decision to use these items lies with you and your team, and there's no penalty for choosing not to use them. Only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract, unless you customize the settings otherwise.

There are seven types of Cursed Objects available:

  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
  • Summoning Circle

Each offers different abilities and risks, allowing you to tailor your approach to ghost hunting. For more guides and the latest news on *Phasmophobia*, including tips on unlocking all achievements and trophies, be sure to visit The Escapist.
