Microsoft has unveiled the first Xbox Game Pass lineup of 2025, confirming several anticipated additions and departures. Leaks had hinted at some titles, but the official announcement provides concrete dates and subscription tier details. January 2025 is shaping up to be a strong month for Game Pass subscribers.
This announcement follows Microsoft's earlier reveal of significant Game Pass changes, including updated age restrictions and a revised rewards system, many of which are already active.
Seven new games are joining the service, as announced on January 7th, 2025 via the official Xbox blog. Road 96, a choice-driven title, is immediately available across all Game Pass tiers (including PC). This marks its return to the service after a previous stint ended in June 2023. The remaining six titles arrive later in the month, primarily on January 8th, with two launching on January 14th.
New Xbox Game Pass Games (January 2025):
Rumors of Diablo and UFC 5 joining Game Pass have been confirmed, though access is limited to Ultimate and/or PC Game Pass for these titles. The remaining games are accessible with a standard subscription. Lightyear Frontier, a sci-fi title, remains in early access.
Alongside the new games, several Game Pass Ultimate perks are available as of January 7th, including weapon charms for Apex Legends and DLC for First Descendant, Vigor, and Metaball.
