To use Piston as a car scanner, you need a separate Bluetooth or WiFi ELM327 device. Piston supports OBD-II (also called OBDII or OBD2) and EOBD standards.
All vehicles sold in the USA since 1996 must support OBD2.
In the European Union, EOBD became mandatory for petrol vehicles from 2001 and for diesel vehicles from 2004. Australia and New Zealand require OBD2 for petrol cars made from 2006 and diesel cars from 2007 onward.
Note: Piston can only access data that your vehicle supports and provides via the OBD2 standard.
